In the light of the continued Israeli blockade on the Gaza strip since 2007, the Palestinian government’s capacities to fight the spread of coronavirus in Gaza are weak and limited where the Israeli occupation authorities restrict the import of the goods and basic materials into Gaza including the materials and kits needed for the coronavirus testing.

Based on the flash appeal launched by the Ministry of Health in Gaza warning that the available amounts of COVID-19 testing kits are about to run out from the Ministry’s labs. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges the International Community, the United Nations and all concerned stakeholders to intervene and to ensure the provision of these kits to the Ministry of Health in Gaza.
