he Ministry of Health in Gaza has confirmed the infection of two coronavirus cases for two Palestinian returnees from Pakistan. Although, the Ministry of Health has gave assurances that the cases were diagnosed while in quarantine, still there are fears among the residents of Gaza over the spread of coronavirus because of the weak health infrastructure in Gaza resulted from the Israeli occupation and blockade.

Based on this situation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Gaza urges the International community and the United Nations concerned agencies to exert all possible efforts to pressure on the Israeli authorities to lift the 14 year old blockade on Gaza.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs joins the calls made by the UN Special Rapporteur for the situation of human rights in Palestine who urged the Israeli authorities to live up to their international legal responsibilities and to ensure the right to health for all Palestinians.
